But it died pretty soon after, so that was good,
and the pain eventually went away.
I'm more careful about that kind of thing now, or maybe conscious.
And as I got up, I stood in awe
for the glorious sight in front of my eyes.
Running, baking, praying, and dancing
all simultaneously with such grace, and I couldn't help but smile.
With experience on my side, and somewhat of a chip on my shoulder,
I try not to move as to not disturb the beauty.
What now?
So many reasons, yet some ineffable.
I open my mouth as if to speak, but I'm muted.
Muted by my past and my future.
I'll never forget, and I hope that memory is shared.
